Mycoremediation is a fungal form of bioremediation where fungi or fungal metabolites/exudates are utilized to decontaminate environments, reduce pollutants, act as a buffer and natural filter for agricultural runoff, biodegrading hydrocarbons (oil, kerosene, etc.), and reducing heavy metals, pesticides, and herbicides in contaminated soils, among many other applications.
